Are You Bruised or Broken?
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
Romans 8:31
God’s grace makes our hope possible. Not just for today, but for all of eternity.
Over 2,000 years ago, our heavenly Father looked at a hurting, messed-up planet and He sent His only Son from heaven to earth so we would not perish but have eternal life. And in one push of a button, by sending Jesus, God Almighty said to our broken world, “I’ll fix it!”
Granted, having God “fix” the issues in our lives does not mean that all our problems instantly go away. But it does mean that God gives us the strength we need to walk through the hard times, and He gives us an unimaginable peace that goes beyond our understanding to endure whatever troubles we face.
Could you use a fix-it button in your life? We all need a reminder that God can solve our problems – both big and small, but to know that God loves us is a huge reality to His fixing! The Bible is our only source of truth for the healing that we all need! Depend on it because it will never take you into harms way, and it will never steer you in a direction that can harm you.
It’s never too late for God’s infinite grace to step in and right the wrongs in our lives!
A little further in Romans 8, Paul writes these incredible words, “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow – not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below – indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39).
How’s that for reassuring? Nothing can ever separate us from God’s love! No matter what’s happening around us, God’s love for us is constant and consistent. That’s the ultimate fix-it solution.
Janice and I are excited to be the ministry leaders for our new ministry here at FBC. Celebrate Recovery will start in the fall, and our dedicated team will be ministering God's healing to our hurts and hang-up.
God bless you,
Paul Delisle
