The Donkey, Elephant, and Lamb

“Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad.” Romans 14:1, 3

With the election behind us, and as America faces a new political agenda with a newly elected president, we are thankful to God for what looks like a new and improved direction for our nation. As Pastor Paul reminded us on Sunday, our allegiance is to the Lamb before it is to the donkey (democrat party) or the elephant (republican party). Our marching orders are not from the leader of a political party, but from the Lord of the universe!

Let me say that I am so thankful to God for our democracy that is supported by a republic! I thank Him for the freedom to vote and to voice my opinion as a believer in Jesus Christ. Let’s remember that a lot of blood, sweat, and tears have been shed to give us this remarkable pollical system that has supported this nation for over 245 years. We are truly blessed by God who inspired our founding Fathers to adopt founding documents that refer to Him several times.

Last week's election may be the last chance that America gets to correct the dangerous and demonic policies like cancel culture, WOKE churches, identity politics, culture Marxism, transgenderism, and the massive climate scam. This is the time for Christians to renew themselves in biblical truth, reignite as the light of the world, and reengage as the salt of the earth! Let’s remind ourselves that our nation is not in need of a political revival, but a moral revival. Our nation is at a breaking point morally! We don't need to make America great again, we need to make America godly again - then she will be great again!

Today, churches from boarder to boarder, from shore to shore need to rise up with biblical conviction, and spiritual strength to face down the forces of evil that have corrupted our culture. We need to pray in Jesus’ name that evil’s grip will be released from our churches, children, and culture. History shows that a nation’s society does not improve when its churches are silenced by its media and politicians, and shamed by the philosophies of men.

The dividing line in our country is no longer elephant vs. donkey. It's not right vs. left. It’s right vs. wrong and light vs. darkness. Erwin Lutzer said it perfectly, "The sun still shines behind the eclipse, not even a determined secular world can blot out the witness of God's servants who are dedicated to sharing His light."

Elections are a great time for a nation to self-check and take a fresh look at how to right the wrong. So I believe this is a monumental moment in the history of this great nation! Let's heed the words of king David before it's too late, "When the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?"

Our eyes must be fixed on the Lamb! The promises brought to us by the party of the elephant and the donkey will fail us, but the promises of the Lamb will never fail us. And one promise Jesus spoke still rings true today, "...I will build My church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it."

God bless America!

Pastor Dave
