God Has A Word For You
“Call to Me and I will answer you and will tell you great and mighty things.”
Jeremiah 33:3
We all must all continue to tap into the great possibilities that God has for us! One way that happens is when we listen to God – He is still in the business of giving His people a word. It can be a word of direction, instruction, and inspiration.
If you are still eating and breathing, singing and shouting, God has a plan for your life! Never give up on God because He will never give up on you!
Lots of people in the Bible thought that God had passed them up only to find out that He was still very much involved in their lives. So much so that Abraham proves that old age does not stop God from using us. Moses proves that there is no obstacle that God can’t make a way. David proves that youth can’t hinders the power of God. Daniel proves that there is no pit so deep that God can’t deliver us. Paul proves to us that there is no sin so black that God can’t wash us clean. Esther proves that there is no problem that God can’t conquer. Joseph proves to us that there is no prison so dark that God can’t see us.
Does God speak to us audibly? I’m very careful about this because I know that Satan is the master manipulator and the trickster of truth.
But I’m concerned that in our modern Christianity we’ve been contaminated by all the gadgets and gimmicks that make it hard to hear from God! He wants to reveal to us great things but are we spiritually deaf? Hearing from God is one of the highest levels of spirituality that exists in our relationship with Him.
There might be someone thinking, “But I don’t think God loves me because of my past!” Well, that’s a lie! Because of God’s love, instead of turning shame into a barrier God turn it into a bridge!
Abraham, Moses, David, and Paul are great examples of how they turned shame into a bridge to grace. And when they heard from God they were far from perfect – far from having their life all together!
Hearing from God is not just for some believers but for all believers! We all have access to an amazing God who wants to give us a word in every season of our lives!
We live in a world that is broken by bitterness, soured by sorrow, and empty in their spirits. Much of our culture can related with David when he cried out in Psalm 146:4 “No one who takes notice of me; there is no safe place anymore; and no one has a word for me.”
But we must remind ourselves of Paul’s words in Romans 8:11 “The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you.” Since God is with us then we must have the confidence that God hears us when we talk to Him.
But what should we do with the word that God gives us? Simple, obey Him! The Bible is full of examples of ordinary folks who heard from God, and they kept His word. Abraham is a perfect example! God said of Abraham, “Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My word.” Genesis 26:5
Jesus gave us clear teaching that He still directs His sheep through His word! He said in John 10:27 “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” And again in Matthew 7:24 “Everyone then who hears My words and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”
So before we ask God for His word, let’s ask ourselves a profound question – am I going to obey Him?”
God bless you as you listen for God’s word for you!
