This week we look at the title, “Mighty God” – the Hebrew word for God is found in two words “el”. It speaks of a mighty power that’s only found in deity. Rabbis and Jewish writers would like to translate this title “mighty hero” in order to get rid of “God” but the “el” in this title is the key. The Hebrew word is “Gibbor” which means strong or prevailing. But the word in Arabic “Jabbar” means “omnipotent.” So let’s look at three fascinating facts about our mighty God.
